Craft: Painting a Doll-Sized Birdhouse

When I was shopping at Hobby Lobby, I found the cutest miniature birdhouse that is perfect for dolls! Courtney is excited to help paint it.

What you'll need for this project:
  • Mini Birdhouse (I got mine at Hobby Lobby for $1.99)
  • Paint (Any colors)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Masking Tape
  • Clear Coat Spray

The first step is to use masking tape to tape off where you don't want to paint. If you're a messy painter like me, this will be very helpful.

Now we are going to paint the main color. (I chose to use Apple Barrel's Bright Blue)
Now let's remove the masking tape and paint the remaining parts. (I am using a lime green that I mixed myself using Apple Barrel's Christmas Green and Apple Barrel's Bright Yellow)
The final step is optional. We are going to now give this birdhouse a finished off look using a clear coat spray.
Hooray! Courtney's birdhouse is complete! She can't wait to hang it up outside and wait for a bird to come live in it!

Go ahead and add your own embellishments to customize it for your dolls!

Here are a few fun facts about today's post:
  • Courtney is from American Girl.
  • Courtney's dress was sewn by my sister.
  • Courtney's shoes are from Sophia's.
